How to Choose Suitable Refractory Materials for Kiln Lining?
 
The most important thing is to consider the properties of refractory materials: from the structural properties of refractory materials, thermal properties, mechanical properties of refractory materials, and the use of refractory materials,performance and workability of refractory materials should be considered.
 
(1)The main considerations for the structural properties of refractory materials: porosity, water absorption, bulk density, and air permeability of refractory materials.
 
①The porosity of refractory materials has the greatest impact on the use of products.
②The water absorption rate is to confirm the calcining quality of refractory raw materials. The better the calcining, the lower the water absorption rate.
③The volume density of refractory materials intuitively reflects the degree of compactness of products, and is an important measure of the quality level of refractory dense products.
④The air permeability of the refractory material is the property of the refractory product to allow gas to pass under the pressure difference.
 
(2)The main considerations for the thermal properties of refractories are thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, and specific heat capacity.
 
❶Thermal expansion of refractory materials: the expansion or contraction that occurs with the change of temperature will seriously affect the dimensional tightness and structure of the thermal equipment masonry.Even the masonry is destroyed.
 
❷In actual production, the thermal conductivity of refractory materials needs to take into account the amount of heat loss after passing through the refractory, and calculate the heat preservation effect of the insulating refractory.
 
❸The pores in the fire products have the greatest influence on the thermal conductivity.
 
❹The heat capacity index of refractory materials is of great significance in the design and control of the heating and cooling of the furnace body, especially in the calculation of heat storage capacity
 
(3)The thermal properties of refractory materials should consider the refractory's compressive strength, tensile strength, flexural strength, wear resistance, elastic modulus and high temperature creep.
 
(4)The performance of refractory materials mainly considers refractoriness, load softening temperature, reburning linear change rate, thermal shock resistance, slag resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and oxidation, water resistance, co-erosion resistance.

 (5)Workability of refractory materials: plasticity of refractory materials, adhesiveness of refractory materials, resilience of refractory materials, hardening of refractory materials, consistency and blooming
