Check Fire Bricks Application
 
Check refractory bricks are mainly used in flame furnaces and blast furnace hot blast stoves
 
The checkered brick is mainly used in the regenerator of the hot blast stove, check brick is arranged in an orderly manner by a lattice brick with a certain structure, the upper and lower through holes of the checker brick can pass the gas. According to the technical requirements of different temperature zones, siliceous bricks, clay bricks, etc.Refractory check bricks are generally used. In some hot air stoves, high alumina bricks, mullite bricks, sillimanite bricks are also selected.
 
The function of the hot blast stove is to heat the cold air sent from the blower to the blast furnace into hot air, the hot air is sent to the blast furnace through the hot air duct for combustion reaction. The blast furnace hot blast stove has a burning period and a blowing period, the two working periods are cyclically rotated. During the burning period, the high-temperature flue gas after combustion passes through the holes of the hot-blast furnace check fire brick, transfers the heat to the check refractory brick; during the air supply period, the cold air from the blower enters the hot air furnace, check fire brick is heated by the lattice brick into hot air. Refractory check bricks is sent to the blast furnace through a hot air duct.
 
Check Bricks Structural Characteristics
 
1. The heat-receiving surface A indicates the heat-receiving surface area (m2/m3) per 1m3 of the check brick body, that is, the ratio of the heated surface of the regenerator compartment on the side of the melting furnace to the liquid surface area of the molten portion.
 
2. The heat receiving area of the check brick in the heat storage chamber is determined according to the size of the area of the melting portion, that is, the heat storage area refers to the surface area where the check fire bricks body can exchange heat. The same lattice volume, the larger the thermal surface area, the greater the thermal load that can be satisfied; the more heat is accumulated, the more heat is released.
 
3. After the ratio A of the heat-receiving area of the air and gas regenerator is determined, the heat-receiving surface F of the one-stage regenerator compartment can be obtained. For the oil-fired melting furnace, check fire is the heated surface required for the air regenerator. The melting furnace for the producer gas is the sum of the heated surfaces required for the air regenerator and the gas regenerator. The ratio of the heated area of the two is generally: 1.5-2.0 (up to 2.5)
 
4. Check firebricks volume. The volume of the refractory bricks of the air regenerator and the gas regenerator can be obtained from the heated surface of the check bricks.
 
5.Check firebricks size according to the empirical data of the plane layout and height, the dimensions of length, width and high are determined. The height of the refractory check bricks  is generally according to the customer requirements. The length and width of the check fire bricks should be an integral multiple of the length of the refractory brick.

The function of the check brick is to store heat and heat. Therefore, the check brick is required to withstand high temperature (above 1400℃), corrosion resistance, heat storage, fast heat transfer, rapid cooling and rapid heat, long service life. In the past, clay refractory check bricks were commonly used. Due to the higher temperature of the upper part of the regenerator, the upper fire bricks were made of several layers of high-alumina refractory bricks. However, in the process of glass melting, due to the flying of the powder and the high temperature volatilization of some components in the batch, the alkaline material with the exhaust gas easily reacts with the refractory material at a high temperature to form a low-temperature eutectic, if with clay. The role of refractory bricks, in addition to slagging on the surface of the brick, will also form a serious glass phase, reducing the thermal conductivity and heat storage capacity of the fire brick.
 
Check Brick Used in Hot Blast Stove
 
1.Fire brick with vertical channels. This type of check brick hot air furnace regenerator has vertical channels of the same hole type.The advantage of this kind of check fire brick is that the wind pressure loss is small and the cleaning is convenient.
 
4. Sphere checkered brick. This kind of refractory check brick does not have heat exchange dead zone and has the largest heat storage area.
