The hot metal runner castable for blast furnace is suitable for the blast furnace tapping. When the tapping iron is tapped, about 4~7.5 tons of slag containing molten iron passes through the iron. The tapping temperature reaches 1450℃, and the tapping time is 70~120 minutes. The iron lining is lined with periodic slag, molten iron scouring and corrosion, the iron sump is one of the areas where refractory material is consumed in blast furnace production.
 
The iron ditch castable is a kind of refractory castable used in the tapping groove of the blast furnace tapping field. The fused corundum, silicon carbide and carbonaceous graphite are used as refractory raw materials, adding additives and binders, and mixing according to the formula ratio. The fused corundum is made of high quality alumina powder as raw material and refined by electro-melting. It has high hardness, high purity, strong wear resistance, good acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and good thermal shock resistance. The main raw material of fused corundum is alumina powder, and its composition is also alumina powder, and the chemical formula is Al2O3.
 
Silicon carbide is made of quartz sand, petroleum coke, wood chips and other raw materials by high temperature smelting in an electric resistance furnace. It has high hardness, high temperature resistance, and good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. Silicon carbide is mainly composed of silicon oxide and carbon oxide. Its main components are silicon and carbon, and its chemical formula is SiC.
 
Carbonaceous graphite is divided into natural graphite and artificial graphite. Artificial graphite is a series of processing of carbon containing raw materials into carbonaceous graphite. It has high temperature and wear resistance, high temperature strength and good chemical stability. The main component of graphite is carbon, and its chemical formula is C.
 
The main components of the iron groove castables are: alumina, silicon carbide and carbon. The proportion of alumina is large, and the proportion of silicon carbide and carbon is small.
